Would you leave us a review?
We've been lighting homes around the DMV since 2003, almost entirely on word of mouth. These days that word of mouth happens on Google. If you have a minute, we'd be grateful.
Takes about a minute. A sentence or two is plenty.
On an iPhone or iPad? Start here
The easiest way on an iPhone is the Google Maps app — the one with the little map pin. You're already signed in there, so it won't stop and ask you for a password.
- Open the Google Maps app.
- Search for Landscape Lighting Designers Plus.
- Tap our name, then the Reviews tab.
- Tap the stars to choose your rating.
- Type a sentence, then tap Post.
No Maps app? Use the button below instead — you'll just need to sign in to Google once. If it won't let you, we can help.
Android phone or computer
Tap the green button above and it should take you straight to the review box. If you're signed into Google — which you are if you use Gmail, YouTube or an Android phone — it'll open right up.
Not sure what to say?
Anything honest and specific helps far more than a long write-up. A couple of these is plenty:
- What we installed, and where — front walk, trees, patio.
- How the house looks at night now, or what the neighbours said.
- What it was like working with Craig, start to finish.
Having trouble?
Four things trip people up. One of these is almost certainly it.
It's asking me to sign in and I don't have a Google account
Two things worth knowing:
You may already have one. A Google account isn't the same thing as a Gmail address. If you use YouTube, Google Photos, Google Maps, Google Drive, or you've ever had an Android phone, you have a Google account already — try signing in with the email you normally use.
And if you genuinely don't, you don't need a Gmail address to make one. On the sign-in screen choose Create account, then look for "Use your existing email". You can use the address you already have — iCloud, AOL, Comcast, Verizon, Yahoo, anything. Google sends a short code to that inbox to confirm it's you.
It takes two or three minutes. Google may also text a code to your phone — that's normal.
It keeps asking me to sign in, over and over
That loop is almost always Private Browsing in Safari. Google signs you in, the private tab immediately forgets, and it asks again.
Tap the two-squares icon at the bottom-right of Safari and make sure Private is not selected, then open the link again in a normal tab.
If it still loops, use the Google Maps app instead — the steps are near the top of this page.
I don't want my full name showing publicly
You can change how your name appears. Google now lets you set a display name for reviews and maps — so it can show as "Bob S." or a nickname rather than your full name.
In the Google Maps app, tap your picture in the top right, then Settings → Personal content, and look for the option to edit your public profile or nickname.
Worth knowing: it changes the name on anything you've posted before, too.
I don't have the Google Maps app
No problem — the green button at the top of this page works on its own, you'll just need to sign in to Google once when it asks.
If you'd rather not, and you use Chrome or the Google app on your phone, open this page there instead and tap the button — you're usually already signed in inside those.
Google not working for you? We'd still love to hear from you on Facebook, or on Angi or HomeAdvisor if that's how you first found us. Or just send us a note — we read every one.
Thank you. — Craig
